1. Relationship to the Terms of Service
Read this first. This Agreement supplements the Novelhaus
Terms of Service ("ToS"), operated by SAMCHEONGHAUS Inc., a Delaware C corporation. The ToS — including its warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, dispute-resolution, and miscellaneous provisions — applies to the Single Writer Program. This Agreement sets out the ownership, publishing, and commercial terms specific to a Single Writer work. If this Agreement and the ToS conflict regarding a Single Writer work, this Agreement controls for those Single Writer-specific terms.
2. What Single Writer Is
Single Writer is a separate writing and publishing-support program for authors who want to complete and publish their own manuscript independently. It is not part of the Collaborative Program: there are no community votes, no episode co-authors, and no 52/12/36 collaborative copyright or revenue allocation. The author keeps 100% copyright ownership and independent control of the manuscript and story IP, while Novelhaus may provide hosting, AI-assisted tools, optional editorial or production support, publication, sales, and distribution services under the limited license below.
Two different creator paths. If you want shared creation, shared 52/12/36 ownership and revenue, and centralized copyright administration by SAMCHEONGHAUS Inc., use the Collaborative Program. If you want to keep 100% copyright ownership and independent control of your own manuscript, use Single Writer.
3. Ownership & Limited License
- Your ownership and control: As between you and Novelhaus, you retain 100% copyright ownership and independent control of your original manuscript and story intellectual property. Novelhaus does not acquire any copyright ownership interest merely because you use the Single Writer Program.
- Limited service license to Novelhaus: You grant SAMCHEONGHAUS Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive, limited, and terminable license to host, store, format, reproduce, display, publish, distribute, market, and sell the manuscript only as reasonably necessary to provide the Single Writer services you authorize and to fulfill authorized distribution during the term of this Agreement. This license does not transfer copyright ownership to Novelhaus.
- Service providers and distributors: We may provide the manuscript and related metadata to service providers, e-book stores, distributors, payment providers, and production partners only to the extent reasonably necessary to provide the services you request.
- Your independent rights: Because Single Writer is non-exclusive, you remain free to publish, license, adapt, distribute, sell, withdraw, or otherwise commercially exploit your manuscript independently or through other partners, subject to any active third-party distribution commitments you have authorized through Novelhaus.
- End of license: When you withdraw the work or the Single Writer arrangement terminates, the publishing and distribution license ends subject to: (a) completion of transactions already made, (b) a reasonable technical and distribution wind-down period, (c) archival, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, and legal records we are required or reasonably permitted to retain, and (d) copies already lawfully purchased by readers.
- The perpetual or irrevocable rights that may apply to a published collaborative Novelhaus work do not apply to a Single Writer manuscript.
4. AI-Assisted Services
Single Writer may offer AI-assisted tools for functions such as review, drafting suggestions, editing assistance, summarization, formatting, or other production support. AI output may contain errors, unintended similarities, or material that is not suitable for publication. You remain responsible for reviewing and approving the final manuscript.
- Novelhaus may process relevant portions of your manuscript through approved AI or technology service providers when you use an AI-assisted feature.
- Your submission of a manuscript to Single Writer does not, by itself, grant Novelhaus a general right to use your unpublished manuscript to train general-purpose AI models.
- Where third-party AI providers are used, their processing is also subject to the applicable provider arrangements and our Privacy Policy.
- Novelhaus does not guarantee that AI-assisted material will qualify for copyright protection. Authors should preserve meaningful human authorship and editorial control over the final work.
5. E-book Revenue (70 / 30)
For e-book sales made through the Single Writer Program, the author receives 70% and Novelhaus receives 30% of Distributable Revenue.
- Distributable Revenue means amounts actually received by SAMCHEONGHAUS Inc. from the applicable sale after deducting refunds, chargebacks, sales or similar transaction taxes collected or remitted, payment-processing fees, currency-conversion charges, third-party store or marketplace commissions, distributor fees, and other direct transaction-level distribution costs.
- Author share: 70% of Distributable Revenue.
- Novelhaus share: 30% of Distributable Revenue.
- No double deduction: Novelhaus's 30% share is calculated only after Distributable Revenue is determined; it is not deducted again when calculating the author's 70% share.
- Returns: If a transaction is later refunded, reversed, or charged back, the corresponding author credit may be reversed or offset against future amounts.
- No guarantee: Publication, sales, revenue, ranking, reviews, or commercial success are not guaranteed.
6. Optional Service Fees
Optional services — including AI-assisted review, human editorial support, formatting, cover or production assistance, and publishing support — may be offered for a fee separate from the 70/30 sales allocation. The scope and price of a paid service will be disclosed before you purchase it. Unless required by law or otherwise stated at purchase, fees for work already performed are non-refundable. Purchasing an optional service does not guarantee publication, sales, or any particular commercial result.
7. Publishing Review & Distribution
Submitting a manuscript or requesting publishing review does not guarantee that Novelhaus will publish or distribute the work. We may reasonably decline, delay, suspend, or remove a work where it appears to violate third-party rights, platform rules, distributor requirements, or applicable law, or where publication could create material legal or security risk.
If we decline a manuscript before performing a separately paid service, fees for services not yet performed will be refunded. Distribution through third-party stores may also be subject to those stores' independent review, content rules, technical requirements, pricing rules, and availability.
8. Author Responsibilities & Warranties
You represent and warrant that you own or control the rights necessary to submit and publish the manuscript and that, to the best of your knowledge, the work does not unlawfully infringe another person's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights and is not defamatory or otherwise unlawful.
- You are responsible for checking quotations, images, names, personal information, trademarks, and other third-party material included in your work.
- If AI-assisted material is included, you are responsible for reviewing it and making any disclosure required by law, distributor policy, or platform policy.
- You agree to indemnify SAMCHEONGHAUS Inc. as provided in ToS §12 for claims arising from your manuscript or your material breach of this Agreement.
9. Payouts & Tax
Author earnings are credited only after the related revenue is actually received by SAMCHEONGHAUS Inc. Payouts may be made through PayPal, Stripe Connect, or another supported payout provider selected by Novelhaus and available in the author's jurisdiction. Available methods may change as the live payout infrastructure is finalized.
- Payouts may be subject to a reasonable holding period, identity or tax verification, minimum payout thresholds, provider availability, refunds, chargebacks, fraud review, and legal withholding requirements.
- You must keep your legal name, contact information, payout details, and required tax information accurate and current.
- Novelhaus will collect and report tax information only as required by applicable law. The specific U.S. or non-U.S. tax form, reporting method, and withholding treatment depend on the payment type, recipient status, and applicable law at the time of payment.
- You are responsible for your own tax obligations. Nothing in this Agreement is tax or legal advice.
10. Withdrawal & Termination
- This Agreement applies while you use the Single Writer Program for the relevant work.
- You may request withdrawal of a work or termination of the Single Writer arrangement at any time, subject to the wind-down provisions in Section 3.
- We may suspend or terminate Single Writer access for a material breach of this Agreement or the ToS, or where we reasonably believe continued publication is unlawful, infringes third-party rights, or creates material legal or security risk.
- Termination does not cancel valid payment obligations, completed customer transactions, required accounting or tax records, or provisions that by their nature should survive termination.
11. Launch-Readiness Legal Review
Launch-readiness status. Novelhaus is completing final payment, security, publishing, payout, tax, and legal checks before broader live commercial operation. The Single Writer workflow, payout providers, tax procedures, distribution arrangements, and this Agreement may be refined as the production setup is finalized. Material changes will be handled in accordance with the Terms of Service. The production version should receive professional legal review before broader external paid publishing begins.
