SAMCHEONGHAUS, Inc. is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we share it, and how you can control it.
Account information: When you register, we collect your username, email address, display name, and password (stored as a secure hash).
Content you submit: Pitches, episodes, scores, and profile information you submit through the Platform.
Author payout information: If you become an Author, our payment processor (Stripe Connect) collects and holds payout and identity-verification details (such as bank/ACH information and tax identifiers) needed to process revenue distributions and meet tax-reporting obligations. We receive limited confirmation and reporting data from Stripe; sensitive financial data is handled by Stripe under its own terms.
Usage data: IP addresses, browser type, device information, pages visited, and time spent — collected automatically to operate and improve the service.
We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not display third-party advertising on the Platform.
We share personal information only as described here:
We use strictly necessary session cookies to keep you logged in and secure. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Any analytics we use are configured to be privacy-respecting and do not sell individual data to third parties.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we promptly mask your personal information (such as email and display name) and flag the record as deleted. Contribution records tied to published collaborative novels may be retained, with anonymized attribution, for system integrity and to keep published works available. We may also retain certain data as required to meet legal, tax, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations.
Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and to appeal a denied request. To exercise these rights, use the tools below or contact us; we will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
These rights are provided under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, and comparable laws in states including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and others. We verify requests before acting and may decline where permitted by law.
We use industry-standard security measures, including password hashing (bcrypt), HTTPS encryption, prepared SQL statements to help prevent injection, and CSRF protection on forms. Despite our efforts, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Novelhaus is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us and we will remove the account promptly.
Novelhaus is operated by SAMCHEONGHAUS, Inc. and primarily serves US users. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location. By using the Platform, you consent to this transfer.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email and on-platform notice at least 14 days before taking effect.
