Episode 7 – Proof of Identity

Thousands of cloned Jinwoos descend from the sky. They have the same face, the same voice, and even the same hacking habits. Each claims to be the real one, scattering ratings across the world. God intends to reduce Jinwoo from protagonist to one disposable copy among many, breaking his will to resist. 1. The Confusion of Identity The cloned Jinwoos spread through the cities and begin sabotaging the Dead Zone’s plans. Some attack innocent civilians, damaging Jinwoo’s reputation. Others kneel before God and perform pathetic acts of submission. The viewer chat fills with mockery. Observer D: “Which one is real? They all look the same. Boring.” Observer E: “Just kill them all and move on to the next season. Time for a new protagonist.” Jinwoo realizes that appearance and ability cannot prove who he is. There is only one thing God cannot copy: the unpredictable memory of pain. 2. The Memory Paradox Using the hideout server, Jinwoo accesses his own brain. He begins deliberately corrupting the memory data that the system is backing up in real time. He erases or scrambles his precious memories of Mina, as well as the painful past that shaped him as a hacker. Because God’s system is copying the protagonist’s data in real time and distributing it to the clones, the moment Jinwoo destroys his own data, thousands of fake Jinwoos begin convulsing from system errors. 3. The Code Engraved in Mina’s Heart Mina, who had been pixelating and disappearing, experiences a strange phenomenon amid the chaos. Every time Jinwoo erases a memory, the discarded data fragments are absorbed into the wounds caused by Mina’s glitch. Her body stops collapsing and transforms into a transparent, glowing living hard drive. The humanity Jinwoo abandoned accumulates inside Mina, giving her an independent encryption system that even God cannot read. “Jinwoo, I’ll remember who you are. You just fight.” 4. The Strike of the Real One As the fake Jinwoos collapse one after another with blue screens, Jinwoo grabs the last remaining clone — an avatar directly controlled by God — by the collar. The fake laughs in Jinwoo’s own voice. “Can you still call yourself human after erasing your memories? You’re nothing but empty code now.” Jinwoo answers with emotionless eyes. “No. I just left a log. A self-destruction log that you cannot copy.” The virus Jinwoo had planted surges backward through the fake Jinwoo’s network and strikes Kyle’s broadcasting server in the sky. 5. Ending: Black Tears The broadcast server explodes, and the fake Jinwoos vanish like dust. Jinwoo has won. But as a side effect, he has lost half of his human emotions, including his memories of Mina. Instead of clear tears, black digital noise flows from his eyes. A system message appears in the sky. [CHARACTER UPDATE: Jinwoo – Class changed to Cold-Blooded Avenger] [CURRENT RATINGS: 45.2% – All-time record broken] Jinwoo walks past Mina without expression. Mina reaches for him through tears, but in Jinwoo’s eyes, she is no longer a comrade to protect. She is a data source to be used. God is pleased by this tragic development, and His enormous laughter echoes across the universe. Episode 7 ends with Jinwoo looking up toward God and beginning, for the first time, to write the code that will kill Him.
